In 2009, arguably one of the most successful soccer schools in the UK was created by Head Coach Imtiaz.
It was created out of a lack of opportunities for children in Warrington, Northwest England, to learn how to play football.
Imtiaz was searching for an organisation that could provide, football skills, knowledge and confidence building for his eldest son Dean.
However at that time there was nothing available. So as a keen coach and lover of the game he started his own – and Striker Academy was born.
Soon after seeing the first few players attend he was aptly reminded of his own horrendous experience of football at school.
You see Coach Imtiaz was awful at football.
At lunch times when the teams were being picked, he would often be the last one selected. Many times he wasn’t even selected and just shoved on to the reluctant team with moans and groans from his team mates.
It was an awful experience and one he vowed “no player at Striker Academy would ever go through”.
This is the inspiration and vision that helped him develop one of the most sought after football coaching curriculums on the planet that has helped thousands of children play football with confidence, flair and freedom.
Because of that inspiration, many children have gone on to some of the best football academies in the world including Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City with many more now playing with confidence at their local clubs.
